FlyCord is a free social network for you and your friends. This page explains, in plain words, what FlyCord saves about you, who can see it, and how to delete it.
What FlyCord saves
- Your account: your username and your password. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody, not even FlyCord's admins, can read it.
- If you use "Continue with Google": only Google's ID number for your Google account, so FlyCord knows it's you next time. FlyCord doesn't ask Google for your email, name or photo, and doesn't get them. You can disconnect Google in Settings.
- Your profile: your picture, cover photo, bio, status and birthday, if you add them. Only the day and month of your birthday are ever shown.
- What you share: posts, photos, videos, stories, comments, likes, games you made, the lines you write in chain stories, and messages you send.
- Who you're connected to: your friends, friend requests, groups, and accounts you've blocked.
- Your devices: each browser you use gets a random ID in a cookie, and FlyCord remembers which IDs your account used, with a short name like "iPhone · iOS 18.2 · Safari 18.2" (the kind of device, its system version and browser) and when it was first and last used. This is used for safety, so admins can block a device that breaks the rules. When your account is logged into on a device it never used before, FlyCord saves a "new login" alert with that short name and the time, and shows it on your other devices so you can say whether it was you.
- Your network: a scrambled code made from your internet (IP) address, so admins can see which accounts use the same connection. The address itself isn't saved, and can't be worked out from the code. FlyCord can't see your Wi-Fi's name or your location.
- When you were last active, to show friends a green "online" dot. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy.
- Posts the safety check stopped: if a post or comment isn't allowed (see below), FlyCord keeps its text, why it was stopped and any warning you got, so admins can check the decision. Its photo or video isn't kept. A username that isn't allowed is just refused, and nothing about it is saved.
- Where you came from, if you joined through a link like a friend's invite or an ad, so we know which links bring new people.
Apart from that code, FlyCord uses your internet (IP) address only for a moment, to slow down people guessing passwords. It isn't saved.
Who can see it
- Posts and your profile can be seen by other FlyCord users. With a private account (Settings → Private account), only your friends see your posts, photos, games and details.
- Stories are seen only by your friends, and disappear after 24 hours.
- Messages are seen only by you and the people you're talking to.
- Chain stories are seen only by the friends who write in them. While a story is being written, each writer sees only the line before theirs; when it's finished, everyone who wrote a line sees the whole story.
- Your cords (how much you and each friend chat, like and comment) are seen only by you. They're worked out from your messages and activity; nothing extra is saved.
- FlyCord's admins can see what's reported to them and what the safety check stopped, and an account's devices and network codes, so they can keep FlyCord safe. They can't see your password.
The automatic safety check
To keep FlyCord free of bullying, 18+ content, violence, hate, politics and spam, every new post, comment, repost caption and edit, the photo of a post, a few still pictures taken from the video of a post, story or cover, any post someone reposts, every story, your profile picture, bio, status and cover photo when you change them, and the username you sign up with, is checked by an automatic safety check (Claude, an AI made by Anthropic) before it goes up. Only that text, photo or those pictures are sent, without your name or any other information about you. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its AI. A video's sound, messages and chain stories aren't checked.
When the check stops something, you're told why. Bullying gives a warning, and 3 warnings pause your account for an hour. 18+ content gives a warning first, and a second time pauses your account for 24 hours. Gore, hate, threats, illegal stuff or sexual content about children pause it for 24 hours straight away. Politics and spam just aren't posted. FlyCord's admins see what was stopped and can take a warning or a pause back if the AI made a mistake.
What FlyCord doesn't do
- FlyCord doesn't sell your information, and doesn't show ads inside FlyCord.
- FlyCord doesn't use tracking tools from other companies.
Cookies
FlyCord uses a few small cookies it needs to work: one that keeps you logged in, one with your device's random ID, one that remembers light or dark mode, and one with your time zone (so birthdays show on the right day).
Deleting your information
You can delete your account any time in Settings → Delete my account. That permanently deletes your account and everything in it: posts, photos, videos, stories, messages, games and friends.
Age
You must be 13 or older to use FlyCord.
Questions
If you have a question about your privacy, message one of FlyCord's admins (they have an "Admin" badge on their profile), or report the problem from any post or profile.
